Culver Community Middle/High School

Before our home game with Oregon-Davis on Monday, we honored our T-Ball, Coach Pitch, and Youth Baseball teams by bringing them on the field and giving them recognition. The 12U players also joined our varsity starters on the field for the National Anthem. After the recognition, the Cavs got off to a hot start against Oregon-Davis scoring 10 runs in the first 3 innings, and were able to hold off a comeback by the Bobcats to get an 11-9 win. The highlight on offense was 2 home runs by senior Jonas McCuen, a 3 run home run in the 3rd and a solo shot in the 5th. Jonas also went 4-4 at the plate adding a single and double, as well, with 5 RBIs and scoring 4 runs. Caleb McCuen went 2-3 with 3 runs scored. On the mound, Caleb also was credited with the win, allowing no runs and 1 hit with 6 strikeouts in 2.1 innings of work. Starter Matthew Bloomquist struck out 7 allowing 4 earned runs in 3.1 innings. Reese Carter also saw the mound Monday, striking out 2 and allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run in 1.1 innings. It was a great night of community recognition and honoring the next generation of Cavalier baseball!
