Cavs get Senior Night Win over Oregon-Davis

Camran Whitworth's pitching and a strong offense helped propel the Cavs to a 15-1 win over Oregon-Davis last night. The Cavs were celebrating Senior Night, Youth Night, and wore special City Connect uniforms celebrating the heritage of the Town of Culver. Before the game, Seniors Camran Whitworth, Kyler Weiger, and Adam Peterson were honored; including by having their moms throwing the celebratory 1st pitch. Youth teams were also honored during the pregame ceremonies. Oregon-Davis got on the board 1st in the 1st inning, but after that, it was all Cavs, scoring runs in every inning. Cam Whitworth struck out 10 batters while allowing no earned runs. On the offensive side, Jonas McCuen led the charge on offense going a perfect 4-4 with 2 doubles and 4 runs scored. Caleb McCuen scored 3 runs and went 2-3, and Drake Zorich had a triple that drove in 2 runs for the Cavs. The Cavs now prepare for the postseason, the opening game of the Sectional will be a 3rd matchup with the Bobcats next Friday, May 30th at 5:30 PM at South Central HS.
